Phone not coming out of Airplane Mode? Lose the SIM PIN!

I had a problem that the phone would not come back from Airplane Mode - I could go into it easily of course, but it would never return back to normal mode. The solution was simple - it was the PIN code that protected my SIM card. Without a prompt for the PIN code, normal service was not being resumed.

So if you've got a PIN code on your SIM card, take it off! Better to secure your phone with the Lock screen options.
